iTi Tropicals 20th Anniversary is on November 1st and we really want to
celebrate! However, instead of having a party to mark this milestone
we've decided instead to do something meaningful in the countries from which
we purchase our products. We are contemplating several projects. The aim
behind each of them is to enhance sustainability and/or improve quality of
life.
One of the three projects that we will move forward with is to create a market
for cocoa fruit. As you know the bulk of this product is regarded as waste
and ends up being dumped.
We have set up a forum on this website and ask that anyone with knowledge
on this fruit to participate. The idea is to share information, create
excitement and create demand. Hopefully the end result will be that the
farmers in the countries of origin will benefit from this.
